Blessing “Bled” Chimanga is an internationally acclaimed artist as a marimba player, singer, songwriter and percussionist from Zimbabwe. He’s been touring world wide (Asia, Europe, North & South America, Africa) with his own African bands as well as with intercultural projects as musical ambassador of Zimbabwe, e.g. Zimboita, Kunzwana #1 or Mama Africa. Blessing’s music is marked by a unique sound produced out of his virtuoso marimba playing and the true strong rhythms of Africa. The main attraction of the act is the high African energy live on stage, but also the outstanding entertaining talent of Blessing Chimanga. The lyrics of the songs are in English and Shona (Zimbabwean main local language). Blessing is currently one of the fastest raising musicians of his country and performed internationally at many well known festivals, such as HIFA (Zimbabwe), Global Isai Festival (India), Barefeet Festival (Zambia), Iguazu En Concieto (Argentina), Glatt & Verkehrt (Austria), Oslo arts festival (Norway) and many more. Blessing was selected as the only Zimbabwean musician to showcase at the Indian Ocean Music Market 2019. He has performed with musicians such as Oliver Mutukudzi (Zimbabwe), Eric Wainana (Kenya) Amanda Elabanda (Italy), Sonar Jobarteh (Gambia), Wezi (Zambia) Kunle Ayo (South Africa) Freshlyground (South Africa). He has performed for His Excellency the Prince of Chennai and has been called to perform for important functions in India. In 2018 Blessing was the music director and the person responsible for the selection of artists at the biggest festival in Zimbabwe the Harare International Festival of the Arts. The high energetic Blessing and the band always presents powerful, professional and high voltage energy performances. Blessing enjoys collaborating with other artists and musicians from all over the world. In 2014 he was selected to represent Zimbabwe at a arts residency with 35 musicians from all over the world for an exchange program called ONEBEAT which was hosted in USA.
